What to Expect at Seeds Of Hope Family Chiropractic

Consultation room at Seeds Of Hope Family Chiropractic

We explain everything in advance

How Do I Get Started?

Dr. Spratt sets aside special time on Monday and Thursday mornings to see new patients. Don’t worry if that doesn’t fit with your schedule – he’ll certainly take you as a new patient at another time during the week. But regardless of when you come in, first and second appointments involve more than subsequent visits, so Dr. Spratt will reserve ample time to get to know you and ensure he understands your case well.

Please set aside 1.5 – 2 hours for your first visit, and wear whatever you are comfortable in.

Your First Visit

When you arrive for your first appointment with Dr. Spratt, he’ll greet you and give you a tour of the office. If you have any questions, feel free to ask then, or at any time during your new patient experience.

During your consultation at our Douglas Chiropractic office, Dr. Spratt will:

  • explain his approach to chiropractic care
  • review your case history to get a picture of how you got to where you are
  • assess your overall wellness
  • check your range of motion
  • conduct a computerized posture analysis
  • perform a spinal examination
  • determine which types of digital X-rays should be taken
  • answer your questions
  • and explain how he can help you

Dr. Michael Spratt can take x-rays if necessary

If Dr. Spratt finds that you have upper cervical misalignment, he will recommend the Blair Upper Cervical technique for correction.

This technique is employed with great precision and relies upon measuring the angles at which your upper cervical spine is misaligned, as detailed in your digital X-rays.

Dr. Spratt will analyze your X-rays after the first visit, and be prepared to adjust you or perform a precise upper cervical correction on your second visit.

Your Second Visit

Please set aside one hour and 30 minutes for your second visit, where Dr. Spratt will:

  • Interpret your X Rays and answer any questions you may have at that time
  • discuss with you a chiropractic care plan which he thinks will best help you reach your goals.
  • perform an upper cervical correction
  • have you spend 20 minutes in our resting room listening to peaceful music.

Regular Visits

You can expect to be in and out of the office in very little time when you return for care following your first and second visits.

Dr. Spratt will:

  • monitor your upper cervical spine to ensure his previous correction has “held”
  • perform another upper cervical correction, only if necessary
  • begin to perform adjustments elsewhere in the spine, if the upper cervical region is “holding”
